In 2016 I really had something brewing in my heart to do something different. Traveling with my family band for nearly 20 years playing churches, festivals and events I was looking for something deeper. My first experiences of street music was with my family the Bruce Weeks Family Band on the streets of Cherokee, North Carolina. We ran in to people we had met and played and prayed for over the years. I knew that was what tugged at me, but something even different. A friend and fellow bandmate Mike Williford and I had went in 2016 to the street corner of McCaysville, Ga and Copperhill, Tn to play. I thought I had a glimpse that day of what I was looking for. So in 2017 I spent the summer playing the streets of Woodstock, Marietta and Blue Ridge Georgia. From April to November I spent many hours on the street playing and singing the good news! I learned to love people like I had never experienced before, but greater than that was the realizing that God had put me there and that He was extending His love through me. I found myself listening, leading people to Jesus as well as praying for their needs. The Lord has done something special in my heart and I made many new friends along the way!!!!!!!! I’m looking for an awesome year in 2019 performing on the street as well as bringing the family band along on some of the days! Can’t hardly imagine the great things in store! Love all you folks that have helped us along the way!
